Breaking The Spell

A multimodal digital project I created for my Electronic Literature class using the platform ThingLink.  I was able to combine poetry, nonfiction, collage, music,hyperlinks, and images to construct a piece of electronic literature that holds many layers. For my project, I wanted to assess how the two mediums, magazine and film, and observe how the “cover-girl” woman of each decade has grown to become well-rounded and complex. I decided to look at Disney Princess films, specifically, as they are known for including harmful gender roles and stereotypes, but also are famously known role-models for little girls.
